Dyson , last year’s winner of the designEX New Product Award for Bathroomware, showcased the Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer’s latest design accolades at designEX 2009.
The Dyson Airblade™ filters incoming air to remove 99.9% of bacteria. Powered by Dyson’s digital motor, the Dyson Airblade™ creates a high speed sheet of unheated air by forcing it through an appeturte the width of an eye lash. This sheet of air wipes water from hands in just 10 seconds. With no heating element, the Dyson Airblade™ uses up to 80% less energy than warm air hand dryers and offers an environmentally friendly solution that can help reduce landfill and eliminate the need for paper towels, whilst also providing significant savings in running costs.
The Dyson Airblade™ was introduced to Australia in early 2008 and is available in over 16 countries.
Last month, the Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer was awarded a red dot design award for high design quality in Germany. The red dot awards are one one of the most prominent product design competitions worldwide. This win follows numerous awards for design, energy efficiency and environmental sustainability that this product has received since its international debut.
Visitors to designEX 2009 were the first to hear about the latest large scale commercial installation for the Airblade in Australia with Melbourne Airport and also had the chance to see footage of the Airblade hand dryer at the largest agricultural public event in the southern hemisphere, with a vox pop video from the Sydney Royal Easter Show.
