Ducted heating services from Dynamic heating and cooling
When was the last time you had your ducted heating unit serviced? Did you realise that they should be serviced every one to two years?
The Metropolitan Fire Brigade in a press release date 17th July 2002 states that dust in ducted heating ducts is not a major cause of house fires in winter. David Nicholson, Director Community Safety at the MFB said that, owners of ducted heating systems should not be misled by advertising stating that dusty and dirty vents are a fire danger.
"The fact is that dust in central heating ducts does not cause or spread fire. The cleaning of ducts will not reduce the fire hazard or slow the spread of fire in the home. The greatest danger to home owners and occupiers is spending hard earned money on cleaning ducts rather than on the maintenance of the actual heating unit, which should be conducted in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications," said Nicholson.
“Instances of house fires increase by approximately 16% in the colder winter months.”
In-line with the MFB recommendation Dynamic Heating & Cooling are providing a pre-winter service on gas ducted heating units located within a 5km radius of its Glen Iris store.
Along with the pre-winter service they will also inspect your ductwork to ensure maximum efficiency.
