Designbuild 2008 has attracted a particularly high quality audience by focusing on the hot issue facing the industry - environmental sustainability, according to organisers Diversified Exhibitions Australia .
“Architects, designers, builders, engineers, plumbers and contractors hungry for knowledge on new products, applications and developments in sustainable building practices were the people we targeted and that’s the audience we delivered,” said Exhibition Director, Bill Hare.
The event attracted 10,350 trade visitors including 978 architects/building designers, 1,200 builders and 1,569 CEOs, MDs or Partners. It occupied 13,500m² of floor space and featured 430 exhibitors from 14 countries, including major group stands from Canada, China, Malaysia and Taiwan.
Green Building Seminars
The Designbuild Green Building Seminars were staged in conjunction with the Australian Architecture Association and were a recognised event by the Royal Australian Institute of Architects. The seminars were attended by 670 delegates over the four days.
Speakers from key advisory bodies and top environmental practitioners addressed the changes and possibilities presented by environmental sustainability in the built environment.

The Green Building Seminars were complemented by a Green Building Zone, a Green Plumbing Zone and an Ecospecifier Zone with exhibitors showcasing the recent in green building products, services and technology.
