As the demand for fire protection solutions increases in the wake of the Victorian bushfires, a new window and door sealing system that protects homes from bushfires will be launched at DesignBUILD Sydney, due to be held at the Sydney Convention Centre, 21 – 23 May 2009.
The new Xtreme Window and Door System from Trend Windows and Doors combines the Quantum XP Window system with Pyro-Protec seals and 5/6mm standard toughened glass. Tests by CSIRO and Bushfire CRC have confirmed that the system can withstand heat flux of up to 40kW/m2.
“Windows and doors are considered the areas in the home most susceptible to bushfire damage. Many houses destroyed in a blaze in fact survive the passing of the fire only to burn down later from flying embers,” said David Richardson, National Marketing Manager, Trend Windows and Doors Pty Ltd.
“With its Patented Van Door and Pyro-Protec sealing systems, a breakthrough technology in fire protection, the Xtreme Window and Door System not only protects the home against air infiltration but prevents dangerous debris entering the building.”
Trend Windows and Doors will be among numerous companies exhibiting the most current fire protection technology at the DesignBUILD event. Other exhibitors include Ecospecifier, FrameCAD Solutions, BubbleDeck Australia & New Zealand and Robert Bosch.
Steve Horsley, Exhibition Manager of DesignBUILD Sydney said that the Xtreme Window and Door System from Trend Windows and Doors would be one of many fire protection products on display at the event.
More than 10,000 building and construction professionals are expected to attend this year’s newly remodelled DesignBUILD event, which is expected to be the largest and most industry-focused building exhibition to date.
