Responding to new government requirements for Australian builders to participate in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programmes, DesignBUILD Sydney will offer CPD points to building professionals attending selected seminar programmes at the exhibition.
In a move to make DesignBUILD Sydney an industry-relevant event, organisers have registered Australia’s trade exhibition for the building industry with the Construction Industry Training Advisory Board (CITAB), allowing builders to receive one CPD point for each seminar they attend.
The government’s CPD point system, implemented 1 January 2008, requires all licensed builders to accumulate a minimum of 12 CPD points per year by participating in a range of learning opportunities and activities, including those relating to occupational health and safety, technical knowledge, business skills and associated learning.
Paid and free seminars, which run for a minimum of one hour or more qualify for DesignBUILD’s CPD point programme. Builders attending a session will receive a ticket verifying their participation upon purchasing their seminar pass or at the end of free-to-attend sessions.
According to Steve Horsley, Exhibition Manager, DesignBUILD Sydney, many builders struggle to dedicate the hours needed for their CPD point requirement. DesignBUILD, an industry event, offers the opportunity to learn about the latest products and developments and receive CPD points for doing so.

- Professional training events
