DTAC offers a free consultative service to advise on appropriate tactile indicator solutions for varying situations on different projects. DTAC specialise in AS/NZS 1428.4, the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) and the Builders Code of Australia (BCA).
Known by DTAC as The Art of Tactile Certification, the process flows all the way from the directors of the company to the skilled craftsmen that install and maintain its solutions.
DTAC can advise of any space the public will access at the initial design concept. With assistance from one of DTAC's trained and certified tactile consultants, architects and interior designers can incorporate the use of tactile indicators into their designs.
The recently introduced "take-back" policy means that if any public space has used DTAC tactile indicator products and redesigns or changes the space in any way, DTAC can remove their tactile indicator products, clean them up and recycle them.
DTAC has developed a nationwide infrastructure and reporting system so that every stage of an installation's life can be monitored and reported back to the end client, builder or designer.
Other services and appraisals available from DTAC include:
- DTAC trained and certified. DTAC’s trained and certified tactile consultants specialise in Australian Standards 1428.4 (2002), HB 197, AS/NZS 4586, the BCA Section D Clause 3.8, the DDA and are trained in how it applies to federal law.
- Luminance Substrate Testing. DTAC can test substrate for luminance contrast and ensure that AS/NZS 1428 (2002) is fully complied to.
- Free Tactile Review. DTAC now offers a free no obligation tactile indicator review on projects at the design and tendering stages. With trained and certified staff, DTAC provides this valuable service to assist in achieving a project's certification with tactile indicators.
