The Crown Casino Complex is located on the Yarra River and stretches 33 kilometres along its walking trail and extends further through the heart of Melbourne. Nestled between the exclusive Southbank shopping strip and Jeff's Shed (Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre), Crown is known for its casino, hotels, and shopping.
The Crown Casino Complex boasts a versatile and extremely well equipped convention centre, meeting facilities and an ideal level of service.
When it came time to construct the Crown Promenade Hotel, DTAC were approached to provide tactile ground surface indicators (TGSIs) for the project.
The Builders were running close to their handover date and they needed a company with a solution to supply and install quickly and add a touch of class to this new Melbourne icon.
The substrate was a thin tile of Quarella reconstituted white stone. As all TGSIs require a luminance rating, DTAC organised testing to be conducted to save the builder and the architect the hassle.
After testing was complete in this tight time frame, DTAC installed the AFT-S/S products. The DTAC MAX Ribbed TSGI is a flat back style TGSI that can be adhered directly to a thin substrate that cannot be drilled because of its delicate or fragile nature. The AFT-S/S is made of 316 marine grade stainless steel and is a concentric circle design with a ribbed anti-slip bevelled edge.
DTAC delivered the project before the certificate of occupancy date and managed to enhance the already brilliant designs featured in the Crown Promenade Hotel.
