Multidisciplinary consulting engineering firm Cundall has been recognised in London, receiving three awards, including the award for International Achievement at the Building Services Awards held in June.
The International Achievement Award recognises the success of the UK Building Industry at an International Level. Cundall also received the award for Major Project of the Year for New Street Square, a collaboration with Sir Robert McAlpine and the Innovation Award for the UCI Task Air air conditioning system, which aims to improve office air conditioning systems, advancing employee comfort and productivity.
Cundall Australia Managing Principal Simon Wild said the success in London highlights Cundall’s rapid growth as a worldwide organisation, with 15 offices in eight countries.
Wild also said that the recent achievements demonstrate the growing recognition of the importance of sustainable building and engineering practices.
When awarding Cundall, the Building Sustainable Design judges said, “Cundall has shown an impressive rate of growth and been involved in a wide range of projects, spread across many locations and dealing with numerous different cultures.”
Also recognised in the awards was Cundall’s Marlon Kobacker, short listed in the New Achiever category. The New Achiever Award aims to recognise the success and talent of new professionals in the building services industry.
Cundall’s Australian achievements include The Gauge, Melbourne; South Australia Water Building, Adelaide; St Leonards College Sustainable Learning Centre, Melbourne; 33 Breakfast Creek, Brisbane; Westfield Sydney and Cundall’s Sydney and Melbourne offices. These join an international portfolio that includes Porto Island, Dubai; the CAE Headquarters office refurbishment in China and the Vatra Dornei Hotel in Romania.
