The upcoming 2010 Abode Magazine House of the Year Awards are set to discover the best of the best in the design and building industry. Professional Architects, building designers, interior designers and builders that occupy the high end of the market will all be competing for the top award.
These independent Australian awards are judged purely on merit by an independent judging panel. The awards recognise excellence in design, innovation and the construction of the built form, and includes customer satisfaction.
Rothe Lowman were winners last year for the overall house of the year, and Arundel Constructions for builder of the year.
Projects are assessed on their individual design merits and quality of construction against a range of criteria. The criteria includes:
- Innovation
- Visual and emotional appeal
- Functionality
- Quality of construction
- Choice of materials
- Environmental sustainability
