Managing Director of Conergy Australia, Rodger Meads, has applauded the Federal Parliament’s passing of the RET Legislation. Conergy have played a crucial role in publicly supporting the decoupling of the RET Bill from the ETS Bill and highlighting the substantial impacts of delays in implementing this key policy.
Mr Meads said the move has created job opportunities and should be applauded by all Australians who care about Australia’s clean energy future.
After the Government and Opposition negotiated on key elements to secure its passage through the Senate, the legislation was passed without a formal vote. The support and key role of the Australian Greens in the debate was also recognised by Conergy and many others in the renewable energy industry.
As a key player in the Australian renewable energy market, Conergy, manufacturers and suppliers of high efficiency solar hot water, solar power and small wind power solutions, needed to gain the security of the RET Legislation before employment and office expansion plans could be confirmed.
Mr Meads said that now the legislation is passed, Conergy can reactivate their expansion plans across Australia and create many more jobs.
