The requirements of Australian Standard 3959 - 2009 Building in Bushfire Prone Areas are being upgraded and are being progressively more enforced in areas where bushfire risk is evident.
A new Australian Standard “AS 3959-2009 Construction of buildings in bushfire-prone areas” has been introduced and it includes provision for classification of the level of bushfire attack and defines the required construction for each level.
The code covers the design and construction requirements for all proposed building works for dwellings, flats, units, other residential buildings and associated out-buildings being constructed in locations that have been designated as bushfire risk areas.
The code requires that all buildings must be designed and constructed “to reduce the risk of ignition from a bushfire while the fire front passes”.
With traditional design and construction it is estimated that to build in a bushfire risk location could cost 30% more, which may cause financial concern for those who lost their homes and are now looking to rebuild their lives and homes.
Composite Global Solutions has the product to address this important issue, from a bushfire safety design aspect and from a cost effective aspect.
Buildings and homes constructed using Thermomass building insulation systems offer a fire safety and economical solution. Thermomass building insulation is an energy efficient, insulated concrete sandwich wall system.
Thermomass building insulation panels from Composite Global Solutions have withstood fires, earthquakes, hurricanes and tornadoes. Thermomass building insulation panels reduce on-going energy costs by as much as 50%. Thermomass building insulation projects are constructed quickly and are incredibly durable.
