WorkCover NSW has designated May 2009 as Slips, Trips and Falls Month in an attempt to reduce injuries and raise awareness of risks. Jon Blackwell, CEO of WorkCover, reported that there were 25,000 injuries as a result of slips, trips and falls in New South Wales in 2006-07. Slips, Trips and Falls Month aims to make employers and workers aware of the ways in which they can eliminate or significantly reduce such incidents.
WorkCover NSW’s safety checklist, compiled to help reduce the risk of trips, slips and falls in the workplace, specifically indicates that employers should “pay particular attention to … housekeeping and cleanliness, as well as cleaning and maintenance methods”.
The range of products, services and technologies at CleanScene will provide employers with fresh opportunities to clean and maintain their workplace in their continuing effort to ensure a healthy and safe working environment for their employees. Moreover CleanScene will provide employers with a range of cost-effective and environmentally friendly products and services.
Certainly key industry players Nayla, Oates and Powersweep are keen to take advantage of the synergy. They are three of over 30 companies who have already confirmed their commitment to CleanScene.
Nayla confirmed their participation shortly after CleanScene was launched. They will be exhibiting for numerous reasons, “to promote awareness of our SEBO brand and to launch two new products into the marketplace” explained Kristine Collins, Product Manager at Nayla Pty Ltd.
“The other appeal was the ability to reach other industries with the combination of CleanScene together with The Safety and Materials Handling Show all in one” Collins stated.
CleanScene will also be of interest to industries requiring a high level of cleanliness and hygiene, such as healthcare, aged care, hospitality, food and beverage companies and the public sector. CleanScene will also include feature areas, networking opportunities and live demonstration areas.
CleanScene: The National Cleaning & Hygiene Expo, will be held alongside The Safety Show at Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park between 27 – 29 October this year.
