Aussie designers inspired by voluptuous Italian
Alessi’s recent entrance into the Australian bathroomware design market has plucked from obscurity Sydney cabinetry designers – Cibo .
Cibo Design are working with the new sophisticated range of Alessi bathroom basins known as Il Bagno Alessi by Laufen, which would be better described as works of art, than bathroomware.
Tim Jordan, proprietor of Brightwater Bathware (importer of Il Bagno Alessi) said, “Apparently the Alessi designers were inspired by the voluptuous curves and form of the pregnant woman when conceptualising this range. This is the bathroom at it’s best.”
This collaboration is a quantum leap for Brookvale (Sydney) designers, CIBO, who for the last 10 years have produced custom-made furniture for a select group of prestige clients. The design expertise refined over this time has led to the new relationship with Alessi.
Cibo founder, Peter Ricketts said, “The Alessi bathware range is a revolution in bathroom design. Having the opportunity to create vanities that work in synergy with their bowls is a dream come true. And it is perhaps the first step to one day exporting our Australian-crafted products to Italy.”
