Centor  has won the Australian Window Association Design Award for ‘Most Innovative Component’ for its LT Twinpoint locking systems for folding doors.

Centor Asia Pacific General Manager Garry Stone said he was thrilled that the soon-to-be-released product had received such high praise from the Australia-wide organisation at its national conference held on the Gold Coast.

According to Mr Stone, modern weather-sealed bi-fold doors invented by Centor faced a problem of door furniture getting in the way of the doors stacking neatly.

The new LT Twinpoint door lock solves the problem, while looking sleek and stylish at the same time. The low profile design of the folding door locking system ensures that folding doors can stack neatly without intrusive door furniture getting in the way.

Key features of the Twinpoint bi-fold door locking system

  • Clean-lined central handle operates a deadbolt at both the head and sill with a simple twist
  • Accessible design locking system
  • Offers people with mobility impairments the security of two deadbolts without the access problems associated with deadbolts being too high or low to reach
  • Stylish and secure locking system for bi-fold doors
Centor managing director Nigel Spork said that awards-wise it had been a very busy year for Centor.

Both the Twinpoint and the S1E Eco-Screen were shortlisted for a New Product Award at designEX earlier this year, with the S1E winning the award.

Mr Spork recently won the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the product category for the northern region, and is now in the running for the national award.

Centor was also recently named a double finalist in the Brisbane Lord Mayor's Business Awards for Business Growth and Business Innovation.

The LT Twinpoint lock will be released in Australia in November this year.
