Centor Architectural win at the 2008 Telstra Queensland Business Awards

Centor Architectural have been named the 2008 Telstra Queensland Business of the Year, after being selected from some of the State’s best businesses.
Centor Architectural, the Eagle Farm-based, hardware systems providers, were selected from over 18 businesses and presented the award by Deena Shiff, Group Managing Director of Telstra Business and Telstra Business Awards Ambassador.
Centor Architectural also won the Panasonic Australia Medium Business Award, which recognises successful businesses with 21 to 200 employees and the AMP Innovation Award, which recognises businesses that have introduced an innovative product, service or process.
Centor Architectural specialise in systems for bi-folding windows and doors in residential and commercial buildings. The business provides quality hardware systems to ensure space transformation and embrace architectural design.
Centor Architectural’s recent development is an ideal screening system for large doors and windows, designed to keep out flying insects and which can retract out of sight when not required.
Adding to the portfolio of 19 patents, Centor Architectural have applied for two patents in each of 12 countries to protect their latest innovation.
Deena Shiff, Group Managing Director of Telstra Business and Telstra Business Awards Ambassador, congratulated this year’s Queensland award winners and finalists for their contribution to the Australian business sector.
“The judges were highly impressed by Centor Architectural’s strategic planning, innovation, company vision and its huge potential for growth,” Deena Shiff said.
“These key areas are the building blocks of Centor Architectural’s success and make the company a role model for all Queensland businesses,” Deena Shiff said.
Category award winners in the 2008 Telstra Queensland Business Awards included:
Palm Micro-Business Award (for businesses with five employees or fewer)
- Parenting products provider, mumentum, from Chermside
MYOB Small Business Award (for businesses with six to 20 employees)
- Environmental design business, Clearmake, from Noosaville
Panasonic Australia Medium Business Award (for businesses with 21 to 200 employees)
- Hardware systems provider, Centor Architectural, from Eagle Farm
AMP Innovation Award (for businesses that have successfully introduced an innovative product, service or process);
- Hardware systems provider, Centor Architectural, from Eagle Farm
Sensis Social Responsibility Award (for demonstrated leadership and contribution by a business to the environment, people, education or the community)
- Architectural firm, Thomson Adsett Architects, from South Brisbane
Queensland award winners will now compete against other state and territory winners at the national final in Sydney on Friday 10 October, where they will be eligible to win the national award in their category.
Overall winners from each state and territory are also in the running to be crowned the 2008 Telstra Australian Business of the Year.
This year’s award winners share in a national prize pool of over $400,000, with the 2008 Telstra Australian Business of the Year set to receive $25,000 in cash prizes and Telstra products and services.
