Cement Concrete and Aggregates Australia (CCAA) have devised the seminar, Houses for Flood-Prone Areas in order to address the topic of flood-resilient housing.
The seminar, to be held in Melbourne on April 30, will look at how homes can be designed and constructed in a way that makes them less susceptible to the effects of flooding.
Award-winning architect Max Granfer and CCAA Construction Solutions Engineer, Komal Krishna will present the seminar to Victorian builders, architects, engineers, council staff and certifiers.
Participants will gain a greater understanding of the challenges associated with building in flood-prone areas, and they will learn how concrete construction solutions can be easily and economically adapted to these areas.
The seminar takes place at the Carlton Brewhouse in Abbotsford from 4.30 to 7.30pm. Cost is $20 for CCAA members and students, $30 for non-members.
