CSR Hebel has introduced SoundFloor, a lightweight, durable, noise-, fire- and termite-resistant alternative to concrete flooring.
Developed to meet needs for improved acoustic efficiency, SoundFloor is a premium solution to reduce sound transmission in new buildings and refurbishments. Further, since SoundFloor is based on lightweight construction techniques, meaning it can be quickly and easily fixed to timber or steel joists. Research has shown that SoundFloor improves stability, as the panels are reinforced with corrosion-protected steel mesh and each panel has tongue and groove edges enabling them to fit firmly together, creating a smooth, strong floor.
When used in the first floor of a two storey home, a carpet/underlay floor covering incorporated with CSR Hebel SoundFloor can deliver an RW of 61, combined with vinyl it delivers an RW of 62, with tiles it can achieve an RW of 56 and when combined with timber flooring an RW of 61 can be expected.
