Alibre presents a CAD/CAM package suitable for a variety of users and uses. This CAD software features basic 3D design with up to five part assemblies. Alibre Design Standard is also available: an industrial 3D parametric solids modelling and detailing software, offering unlimited assembly sizes, 3D sketch, shelling, lofting, and 2D associative detailing & layout, among other features.
For professional mechanical assembly designs, Alibre Design Professional offers full sheet metal fabrication design, direct “freeform” 3D feature editing and removal, PDM file vaulting, photo-realistic 3D texture rendering studio software and additional 3D standard part libraries. Alibre Design Professional also includes Algor DesignCheck 3D FEA (Finite Element Analysis) software, for investigating linear stress analysis problems for Alibre designs.
Alibre’s highest product level, Alibre Design Expert includes three-axis CNC milling with smart toolpaths, which update when the associated Alibre model has changed. Alibre Design Expert also offers designers the ability to animate assembly motion in their models and do mechanical, fluid, heat transfer & machinist calculations. Alibre Design Expert purchases include Alibre Translate for reading CATIA, Solid Edge, Autodesk Inventor and SolidWorks files, as well as a complete training and maintenance pack.
All Alibre software licenses also include spreadsheet-driven design using Microsoft Excel and the ability to import 3D models from other systems such as SolidWorks, or STEP and IGES files.
