New Plaspanel has a long list of benefits and wide variety of applications. Made from recycled plastic waste in high-density polyethylene, Plaspanel is a strong yet lightweight panel.
Each panel is a standard 2440 mm x 1220 mm and comes in a range of thicknesses from 9 mm to 32 mm. “Plaspanel’s workability would be one of its major benefits,” Gordon Long, manager of Builda Panels believes. “Using standard tools you can cut it, drill it and route it - there’s no rough edges - just a clean, smooth finish. You can also heat weld it for quick, seamless fabrication on or off-site.”
The waterproof properties of Plaspanel make it ideal for use in moist environments. “You can put Plaspanel in direct contact with the ground and it won’t rot or place it onto a concrete slab and it won’t swell like other panel products,” Long says.
This makes it particularly useful for landscape, marine and bathroom applications. Plaspanel will not delaminate or rust and, as the colour penetrates the entire board, there is no need for maintenance. Cleaning is severely reduced. Also, the smooth non-stick surface resists mould and bacteria growth and is easy to clean.
Bacteria resistant qualities make Plaspanel ideal for agricultural applications like produce bins, kennels, stables, horse studs and breeding pens – it can reduce the risk of contamination and disease. It is also suitable for landscape products, where it can be used in garden edging, planter boxes, root barriers, nursery benches, outdoor furniture, and playground equipment.
Councils, manufacturing, materials handling, furniture, landscaping, agricultural and construction industries will all save on labour, maintenance and repair costs with Plaspanel. And, with all off-cuts from these fully recycled plastic panels also being recyclable, there’s an environmental saving as well.
