General AdvantagesBriggs Veneers now offers approximately 50 eco-cert™ sustainable timber veneers. 100% environmentally certified by Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA), these veneers include plantation, AFS/PEFC and FSC certified veneers from Australia and overseas. They are all eligible to contribute to the Green Building Council of Australia’s (GBCA) Green Star™ points (GECA products are “eco preferred” materials in the “Materials Calculators” sections of the GBCA tools). Additionally, the FSC veneers are able to contribute points in the “Timber” section of the Green Star™ tools. All Briggs’ certified veneers are fully backed up by Chain of Custody certificates - your proof of origin that timber is from well managed forests – please see our website for certificates. (Note: Briggs Veneers is unable to make any guarantees with regards to the certainty of Green Star™ points contributed by veneer or substrate, because the interpretation of these tools, the assessment of product quantities/percentages in a project, and the ultimate decisions regarding the granting of Green Star™ points, resides with the owner of these tools, the Green Building Council of Australia or their licensed agents/consultants.)
