According to Boral Timber Flooring , the grandeur and individuality of a parquetry floor is growing in popularity as a foyer or hallway statement. No longer only for the rich, parquetry can be used creatively to make an individual style statement. By using block parquetry and a mix of timber species there are countless design combinations that can be formed to reflect an individual’s decorating style.
Available from Boral Timber Flooring, the George Hudson Parquetry range offers a choice of two different styles: mosaic and block parquetry.
Traditionalists enjoy the understated elegance of the mosaic pattern which is created by arranging small ‘fingers’ of selected timber tiles, then changing the direction of these rows at regular intervals while those with bolder decorative tastes can unleash their creative flair with block parquetry, choosing from a wide selection of patterns or designing their own block for an individual look. Block parquetry can be laid in any pattern using contrasting coloured timbers to create depth in the design.
George Hudson Parquetry is glued down over a solid, flat subfloor such as concrete, particle board or old timber floors and is available in two grades; Classic, which delivers minimal natural variations in the timber; and Natural, which is high in natural and machine features.
This range is offered in a range of timber species including Alpine Ash, Blackbutt, Sydney Blue Gum, Brush Box, Rose Gum, Ironbark, Spotted Gum, Tallowwood, Tasmanian Oak, Turpentine, Jarrah and new Ribbon Gum and Stringybark.
