The EzyShield, available from Boral Plywood , is an engineered plywood wall system designed to provide an effective noise barrier and visual screening ideal for freeways, quarries, mills and housing developments.
The EzyShield engineered timber panels are manufactured to stress grade F14 with a marine grade bond using Australian plantation timber.
The EzyShield profile has an attractive rippled face, designed to reduce the effects of weathering over time, and a tongue and groove joining system for a strong, warp resistant structure.
Independent testing of EzyShield measures acoustic transmission loss at a high level with EzyShield 24mm (14kg/m) rated as STC24 and other thicknesses up to STC28.
It is recommended that EzyShield be painted for a longer service life. This also allows for a broad scope of aesthetic design of public spaces and roadways including murals.
The structural integrity and cross dimensional stability of plywood allows EzyShield to be used in conjunction with other materials including concrete posts, glass panels and solid timber battens.
The EzyShield is manufactured to 1200mm wide, in three thicknesses (24mm, 27mm and 33mm) and two lengths (2400mm and 2700mm). The EzyShield performs to Australian Standard AS/NZS 2269 and is certified by ISO 9001.
