Residential and Commercial Flooring
To make bamboo flooring, the hollow round shoots are sliced into strips, which are then boiled to remove the starch. The strips are dried and laminated into solid boards, which are then milled into standard strip flooring profiles. Bamboo can be direct stuck to levelled concrete slabs, or secret nailed to plywood or bearer and joist sub floors.

Bamboo can be installed quickly and easily and can be walked upon immediately without delay required for sanding and coating like traditional solid timber floors, making it ideal for domestic flooring and commercial flooring. Bamboo flooring is like any solid timber flooring. Regular cleaning is required, using a soft brush or electrostatic dust mop, which is recommended.

Moisture Resistance
There is no need for messy sanding or waiting for coatings to dry, and there are no fumes.
Bamboo contains cellulose fibres, it does not absorb moisture, avoiding problems of expansion and contraction.

Termite Resistance
The bamboo is treated with preservatives, before it is laminated, after, or both.
It is dipped once for complete coverage with a low toxic acrylic urethane featuring UV inhibitors, this process reinforces the bamboo’s natural resistance to water, mildew and insects.

Carbonised and Natural Bamboo Flooring
When bamboo is being dried for processing, carbon can be introduced into the drying chamber. The carbon is absorbed into the bamboo and oxides the fibre, changing it into a pleasing brown colour.

This colour is not a surface treatment, it permeates the entire flooring, so scuffs can be easily sanded away without changing the look of the floor.

Horizontal and Vertical Finishes
In horizontal finishes, the strips of bamboo are cut in the same direction that the bamboo grows and are stacked on top of one another. This produces a finish that is brush like in appearance.

In vertical finishes the strips are cut through the width of the bamboo stalk and laid side by side. This produces a finish more striped in appearance.
