Australian Cellulose Insulation Manufacturers Association (ACIMA)
The Australian Cellulose Insulation Manufacturers' Association (ACIMA) is a non-profit industry association whose members play a key role in the on-going discussion by government and industry of building energy efficiency, climate change and greenhouse gas reduction.

ACIMA members, who are recognised by their 'ACIMA Endorsed Member' logo, also manufacture and install more than 80% of Australia's cellulose insulation. The cellulose insulation meets stringent Australian Standards.

What is cellulose insulation?
The term 'cellulose' refers to the base fibre for all plant life, with wood, paper and other plant-based materials being cellulosic materials. Some of the key benefits of this energy efficient insulation are:
  • made from 100% recycled paper products, using low energy production process
  • treated with borates so that it is fire and vermin retardant
  • dense insulation materials
  • improve comfort levels in residential homes
  • reduction in energy bills
  • helps reduce Greenhouse gas emissions
  • sound absorption qualities
  • acts as an insect and termite repellent
According to ACIMA, cellulose insulation is Australia's most environmentally friendly insulation material.

ACIMA has representation on various key Standards Australia thermal insulation committees. Each member is independently certified as complying with Australia's principal insulation standard AS/NZS 4859.1 'Materials for the termal insulation of buildings'.
