Foamular extruded polystyrene, available from Austech External Building Products was selected for use in the recently completed construction of the Dr Chau Chak Wing UTS building.

The first project in Australia designed by world-acclaimed architect Frank Gehry, the building was named after Australian-Chinese business leader, Dr Chau Chak Wing, who donated $20 million to the construction.

Foamular extruded polystyrene was selected as insulation for the building’s plaza decks for its ability to support high loads as well as the material’s higher R-values.

Ideal for many areas of commercial, residential and civil construction, Foamular extruded polystyrene is CFC-free, has high strength and R values, and is virtually 100% moisture-resistant. Foamular also maintains its physical and thermal properties for a warranted 20 years with a 50-year plus lifecycle.
