Expol under floor insulation

Austech  are introducing a new product range from Expol, giving an ideal solution to the problem of under floor insulation in the new homes that can also be retrofitted into existing homes.

Austech’s Expol range of insulation meets and exceeds current Australian standards in under floor insulation, with an R-value of 1.4 when used under a typical wooden floor. This means a saving of 12% on the average households heating bills.

The products insulation system has been designed to be quick and simple, with an ideal spring system, meaning it is self-supporting in most situations. This makes it especially useful in pole homes and timber framed houses.

There are four different sizes, with an exclusive Flexi cut system, meaning it can be shaped easily using simple tools, to fit almost any floor joist system.

The high R-value is achieved with a snug fit between joists creating stabilised air. This protects the home form the extremes of temperatures under the floor, leaving homes a more comfortable place.

The stabilised air also acts as a draught reducer, eliminating the flow of air between the floorboards. This ability can also help with damp reduction; since moisture soaked water vapour can no longer pass into the house through the floorboards.

The Expol under floor insulation is a fire retardant, and will not support a flame. Furthermore, if it is involved in a fire, it has a level of toxicity similar to that of burning wood.

The Expol is a versatile product, and can easily be used for tricky insulation jobs, including walls, tight ceilings and sheds, since it is extremely light weight, self-supporting and works with many surfaces.
