The inclusion of AS/NZS 60598 in the new standard is strongly designed to discourage any installation with an exposed temperature in excess of 90ºC (at 25ºC ambient).
The standard recognises that it may be impossible to control loose elements in ceiling spaces e.g. insulation, leaves, nests, debris, vermin, birds etc. without a suitable fire resistant enclosure to stop risk of ignition.
