A floor that’s engineered for the perfect look

In a bow to the rising star of pre-finished floors, leading tile supplier, Amber has released a range of superb engineered timber flooring that, designed for the domestic market, has superior wear qualities and is far more affordable than its solid timber counterpart.

Be it rich chocolate browns, berry reds, husk browns or warm straw hues, the Amber range features a vast collection of timbers from Sydney Blue Gum and Jarrah to Spotted Gum, Brushwood, American and Tasmanian Oak. And in the mid range browns, there are Kempas and Merbau.

Amber’s engineered timber comprises a genuine hardwood surface bonded to an engineered plantation timber base. This not only contributes to the affordability of the product but ensures our valued timber resources are used as economically and responsibly as possible.

The other strong feature of engineered timber is its factory finish. Each plank is sanded and finished with seven coats of a commercial grade tough, but flexible, scratch resistant UV sealer and lacquer prior to being delivered. This finish requires less maintenance and is far more resilient than the on-site finishes applied to solid timber floors.

Homeowners are using the engineered timber throughout the home – from kitchen and dining room to living and bedroom. It is particularly useful for installation over concrete slabs and existing flooring.

The tongue and groove edges are simply glued together and as the finishing is done in the factory, the floor is ready to walk on as soon as it is laid and there are no strong, lingering fumes from sealers and finishes.

Most timbers are available in single, double and triple strip configurations. Planks come in 1800mm lengths and 190mm widths for the double and triple strip design and 145mm for the single strip.
