Pieces of Alucobond Aluminium Composite Material (ACM) from Alucobond Architectural were used by Perth-based artist, Ken Sealy, to create his “Twisted by the Pool” sculptures. Although ACM is generally used for façade cladding, Sealy’s artwork demonstrates a more creative application.
Sealy experimented with a CNC driven nylon brush on both sides of the Alucobond sheet to produce a range of interesting textures. The “Twisted by the Pool” ACM sculptures were showcased at a recent exhibition with hopes of having the completed body of work in a large gallery, with more sculptures on the drawing board.
Alucobond is a light composite material comprised of two aluminium cover sheets and a polyethylene core. Alucobond is a simple but versatile product concept that has been developed to provide an advantageous façade material for architects.
Stable, yet flexible, Alucobond has a smooth surface and is available in a number of standard or custom colours. Alucobond is weather-resistant, durable, shock-resistant, vibration absorbent and simple to install.
Alucobond is ideally suited to facade cladding, roof edging, awning and fascia applications.
