ARBS 2012 is happy to announce that its keynote address will be presented by ‘the Godfather of Green’ Jerry Yudelson. The green building and sustainability advocate, who received his moniker from Wired magazine, will be comparing the promise vs. the performance of sustainable buildings.
Yudelson is known for being a dynamic and straight shooting speaker. His thought provoking presentation will cover the current position of the industry and its vast potential for influencing water use and carbon emissions, as well as possible ways forward.
For 2012 Yudelson predicts that performance disclosure will be the fastest emerging trend. In his address Yudelson will cover other current and future trends in sustainable building, including the rise of green retrofits and the increasing demand for more sophisticated performance monitoring and reporting tools that have become necessary to meet legislative and other demands.
The ARBS keynote speech will also feature a preview of content from The World's Greenest Buildings: Promise Versus Performance in Sustainable Design, a book of case studies by Yudelson and co-author Ulf Meyer, set for release in September 2012. The book features over 50 case studies, including 5 from Australia and several from green leader Germany, that support their analysis of the successes and failures of the sustainable buildings industry globally.
ARBS 2012 runs from Monday 7th to Wednesday 9th May at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre. The exhibition is free of charge and is open to trade visitors only, with a program of chargeable seminars.
