Congratulations to Louise Cox AM, Professor Richard Johnson MBE, Scientia Professor Deo Karan Prasad, John Chandler and Peter Muller on receiving Australia Day Honours for 2014.

Appointed as an Officer of the Order of Australia were Louise Cox AM, Professor Richard Johnson MBE, Scientia Professor Deo Prasad and Peter Muller for distinguished service to architecture.

Cox received her honour for service as a practitioner through executive roles with international professional organisations, and to architectural education and heritage conservation.

Johnson’s appointment was for the design of iconic Australian public buildings, to the visual arts and the museum and galleries sector, and to professional associations.

Prasad’s honour recognised his work in the field of sustainable urban design, as an academic and researcher, and to the solar renewable energy sector.

Muller received his appointment for his contribution to the adaptation and preservation of Indigenous design and construction, and to the integration of the built and environmental landscape.

Architect John Chandler also received an honour, gaining a Medal of the Order of Australia for service to local government and to the City of Stonnington.
